Please don't scroll - A new age of grifting.

I am constantly reminded when looking on the likes of Facebook and TikTok, that we really are fucked as a species. The number of utter, brain dead attention - seeking fuckwits who post their videos, many to deceive, is off the scale.
AI has added a new layer of crud to these platforms. Little kids falling into lion/Polar bear/ gorilla enclosures only to be rescued by those said wild animals.

Behold, the new AI fuelled grift. Several key factors to consider when watching this vile shite.
They're all crying, they all plead for you not to scroll and they all have a relative who works 8 hours a day fabricating some useless tat they want you to buy to support their cancer riddled child's chemo therapy, or grampa's failing business. Also, as you can see from the overlay titles, they implore you spend at least 8 seconds on their video, the greedier ones ask for a full minute.
Then we have the pathetic set who cry out for sympathy cos it's their birthday and no one wished them. To gain your sympathy, they have AI remove a few of their limbs leaving one intact, so they can hold up a cake. Ditto the military cry for attention, again a birthday, often limbs missing fighting for your freedom in Eye Ran.
As grifts go, whether it's for likes and follows, or money for crocheted flower night lights shipped from Temu, the one disturbing thing that's worse then the media posts themselves, is the plethora of gullible comments that accompany them.
Giving it some thought, you can see where politicians get it from. A sincere con job done on a national scale, leeching on gullibility as if it was their meal ticket to success.
Returning to the social media scamtards. It's a pretty low life to lead, using subjects like cancer, children who are on life support and the elderly wanting to have one shot at success before they die... The sympathy grift is on the rise.
Facebook seems to be the worst offender followed closely by TikTok. To learn the level of deception, simply click on the username and look at the timeline of posts and you'll see it's all the same theme. Look, I made one myself, which I post in response to their lame pleas.
The operators of these platforms allow this to continue and while they do, the witless and gullible among us will continue to fall for these blatant scams.
In the last week, I must have called out a hundred and no one has responded saying their child really does only have one eye and a mouth where it's left ear should be...
And that's because they're all fake.
